Hi everyone,

I accidentally soft-bricked my Xiaomi 17 Pro Max (China Edition). The phone is currently stuck and only recognized as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM7) via TestPoint.

When trying to flash the official CN Fastboot ROM via MiFlash, I encounter the Sahara Download Programmer Error 4, which indicates that an authorized Xiaomi EDL account is required.

• Status: EDL Mode (9008) ready
• Goal: Flash official CN stock ROM via remote EDL Auth (Pandora / AuthTool / FlexiHub)

in Warsaw that the process works as follows: first, I need to send them the purchase invoice and the device’s IMEI number. They will then contact Xiaomi to request EDL authorization, which is required to flash a Chinese-market device.
If Xiaomi grants the authorization, I send the device to them and they perform the flashing.
About six months ago, they told me the cost would be approximately €115–€185. They said that once I email them the purchase documents and the IMEI number, they will confirm whether they can do it and provide the exact price.
Generally, any authorized Xiaomi service center can apply for EDL authorization for a Chinese-market device.

This isn’t some made-up excuse — this is simply how it works in Europe. If they want to flash a Chinese model, they need to get authorization from China every single time, which makes it more expensive. But that’s just the procedure. Service centers in Poland can do it without any problem; it just costs a bit more.
