I got a simple foil in local store (as a temporary solution before tempered glass arrives form ali) and I'm surprised for great it fits curved screen so it might even be a better solution for curved screen than a glass. It covers the entire screen as well.

Weird.. on my Mi5 it NEVER went back to stock recovery after I flashed TWRP and I'm using stock china dev rom to be precise

I've flashed TWRP but don't have stock recovery file and I want to revert it now. Please share the original recovery. I'm using MIUI china but I might try global recovery too maybe it will work.

I've been in closed beta of miui v9 and there is a bug, I think it was fixed but anyway the simplest way to fix it is to use the phone untill it shuts down because of empty battery and then boot TWRP/Recovery and keep the phone with the screen lit on untill the time it shuts down, charge it...

You just do it wrong... Type flash instead of boot and it will stay forever. fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
