1. As far as I know on unmodified xiaomi.eu ROM the WhatsApp application can be installed without issues.
2. If you want to have your phone rooted and to install WhatsApp application, your phone has to pass basic and device integrity.

This forum is not an official forum, here the discussions are related mostly with xiaomi.eu custom ROM. As far as I know the xiaomi.eu have by default integrated call recording support into the system.
I'm not sure what were your steps, how and on what ROM did you installed the call recorder...
None of you have the xiaomi.eu ROM flashed,
- VNCRUXM means Russian ROM version
- VMGEUXM means European ROM
The xiaomi.eu rom is mainly based on the Chinese variant, which mean the code should look like ???CN??
So in your cases I guess you have to try to root your phones and try to play around...

But, to be clear, I upgraded from: OS1.0.19.0.UMCCNXM to OS2.0.100.0.VMCCNXM, and just today to OS2.0.104.0.VMCCNXM, in all cases I used "windows_install_upgrade.bat" bash script.
I upgraded my own Xiaomi 13 from Xiaomi.eu hyperos 1.0 to 2.0 without any issues.
Unfortunately both are lacking of VoWiFi suport for my cellular provider (Digi Mobile Romania), there is already atopic about that here.
