    New Battery Drain On Mi5

Just try and get rid of xiaomi service framework (still trying to find if it makes any sense). I deleted the sim activation app mostly because I didn't want to waste my cents to activate a service i don't use

    New Battery Drain On Mi5

I had luck with a magisk module called debloater. My problem could often be that the system partition doesn't actually go read-write, so it pops on again on reboot.

    New Battery Drain On Mi5

Try the last android 8 beta and blow xiaomi and sim activation service from the face of the Earth, and make sure they don't come back. Best battery life in months.

    Magisk Or Supersu

Yes, but that's true with both OTA and manual update. The thing with the second is that you're already in recovery so it takes nothing to reflash magisk/supersu. I think there's something called "OTA survival" to work around this, but i don't bother.

    Magisk Or Supersu

I used both and both are fine. Magisk does more things, and can somehow replace xposed for newer android versions that don't support it. Regarding OTA, you still can update, but the thing with both is that you need to reinstall them with each update, so it makes more sense to download the zip so...

    New Battery Drain On Mi5

Same on my Mi5, updated to 8.2.1 weekly, but I noticed this problem a while back. I will definitely try this, better than nothing. Most of the battery drain comes from system services (and it shouldn't).

Changes To /system Don't Actually Affect The System

wasn't sure because it was android_system instead of /system. By the way what now? Whitin the file manager I always mounted system read/write before doing stuff.

Changes To /system Don't Actually Affect The System

this all started when i updated to the latest weekly: it was fine but i couldn't edit build.prop and enable the navbar, which I absolutely need because the hardware keys are broken. Not being able to edit a system file while being rooted already seems strange. I decided to go back to 8.1.3...

    Screen's Glass Replacement

changing the glass (digitizer) only is cheaper but also very difficult without the appropriate equipment. first you have to remove the old glass that is glued on the LCD, then put the new one on and make it stay there. for phones you can sometimes double-side the edge, but for tablets i think...

    MIUI 8.3 7.4.6

It says mi5 fixed, but mine isn't. I have to uninstall updates every time I want to download an app since there's no way to prevent updating

Google play wi-fi isn't fixed at all. Either fix it or fix the post.
