When I downloaded the new update on my k30 5g and choose install from updater it automatically put me into twrp recovery ready to flash the zip file. I've not tried doing it from the method you have provided. Sent from my Redmi K30 5G using Tapatalk

I normally do a full restore using my Google account and that restores contacts, Wifi password, messages etc
