Question about updating from stable 12.2.3 to stable 12.5.2

So I manually downloaded the xiaomi eu 12.5.2 stable rom for my device and my question is will the below method of updating actually work?

1. Open the updater app
2 Choose update package from the downloads folder
3. Select the 12.5.2 stable rom
4. Profit or brick?

Thanks for anyone that will reply. I need reassurance first before I pull the trigger. I'm not that good with custom roms and stuff.

When I downloaded the new update on my k30 5g and choose install from updater it automatically put me into twrp recovery ready to flash the zip file. I've not tried doing it from the method you have provided.

So... Do I just install the zip file and then wipe Dalvik? Will all my stuff be deleted? I don't have a pc

Install from recovery and just wipe dalvik cache only! Your data and apps will be fine.
