    Nothing requiring location permissions can locate me, despite having permissions granted.

    Mi Mix 2, MIUI 10 xiaomi.eu 8.7.5 beta Google Maps can't find me, no weather apps can find me. I'm in Canada, not sure if that matters. Any ideas?

    Tried a slightly different method suggested on the /r/Xiaomi subreddit. Enter TWRP. If the device asks for decryption password, input the PIN/password you use on your lock screen.     Maybe I went to the wrong place. From TWRP main menu, I went to "Wipe", then "Format Data", then typed "yes".

    Maybe I'm not understanding you. That's what I did first thing, and mentioned at the beginning of my post.

    Coming from LineageOS 15.1. From TWRP, I formatted data, rebooted. Flashed xiaomi.eu_multi_MIMix2_V9.5.6.0.ODECNFA_v9-8.0.zip, wiped cache, rebooted to System. Now it's just sitting at the screen that says "MIX" in the center and "Powered by Android" in the bottom, with the 3 dots moving...
