In short, no. Sorry, since the original china ROM doesn't officially support Google Service, it doesn't pass Google CTS profile validity check. You need to unlock the bootloader, and flash with xiaomi.eu rom, then Google Pay service will work.

Me too MI8 - 9.5.17 (and 9.5.9). Many apps won't get internet access through 4G mobile network, even signal indicator seems okay.
