I think, performance wise, it's just like 8.1.6.0. No noticeable difference for me. I think that something you must take into account when deciding about the upgrade, is what you're expecting from the new ROM; in terms of functionality, you're not missing anything between 8.1.6.0 and 8.2.2.0...

Did you check the file's MD5? Perhaps the file is actually corrupted... You could try downloading it again, and be sure to check the file's MD5!

Because xiaomi.eu ROMs are based on China MIUI ROMs, not global ones.

It's quite usable so far, in my experience. Play Store works, and push notifications are working a lot better. Definitely better than 8.2.1.0.

I did it from 8.1.6.0 to 8.2.1.0, no problems (besides 8.2.1.0 being rather buggy). I'm guessing you can do it straight to 8.2.2.0, but if you want to play it safe, you can always flash 8.2.1.0 and then 8.2.2.0 afterwards.

It's not that Nougat is bad on Xiaomi... But the best benefits of Nougat (enhanced notifications, etc.) aren't really visible on MIUI, so there's little point right now in having Nougat, as opposed to Marshmallow. Also, it didn't help that some of the first MIUI Nougat ROMs (like 8.2.1.0 on Mi5)...

I get this (see screenshot), which is about as good as it gets for me on my Mi5. Anyway, 6m is perfectly good for civilian use, so if you're not aiming guided missiles with your phone, you're all set for navigation, etc. ;-)

Yes, but the .EU stable release is based on the China stable, not global. Once Xiaomi releases an updated China stable build, there can be a new .EU release.

That works... but it's not really a fix, it's a workaround, really. It involves keeping and using an out-of-date Play Store version. Xiaomi seemingly fixed it on 8.2.2.0 Global Stable, hope the fix gets carried to China Stable soon so that we can have a .EU build of it.
