    It should ask you to backup before flashing and then reboot, You can always try to reboot to recovery the same way you flash but instead select update package select reboot to recovery and apply manually, press power button to show menu, then with vol- select install from sd card (or something...

    I had all 3 redmi phones for short period (my new note is on its way) so I did test it and not glonass support on redmi 1 and note, but 1s has it. In GPS test glonass sattelites are marked differently (light colour) so I know what I'm talking about. Sorry for not being able to post screenshot...
