Hey guys, After trying 100 different things, I contacted the retailer and sent the phone back to them. They tried to repair it unsuccessfully and then sent it to Xiaomi who, after a few weeks, managed to repair it and send it back to me. Now it works without a glitch. I know it doesn't help...

Tried to do that too but the logcat seems to shutdown upon the phone's restart anyhow, so it does not seem to log the issue. After a series of emails with the retailer and Xiaomi technical support, I have decided to send it back to the retailer while in warranty in hopes that they can fix it...

@jose ubeda Did you manage to fix this restarting problem? I recently purchased my mi5 too and updated the version to the China developer version 6.8.18 but the phone turns off and restarts always when not connected to the PC or to a charger. I don't know why or what to do...
