Sounds like you're wasting your time. You can't block hard-reboot with the power button, or to either recovery or bootloader (fastboot) via the power + volume buttons.

Powering off the phone is not possible. Whenever I press the power button, the phone reboots in Recovery mode, showing a still Orange Fox logo. It is not possible to boot anything else besides Fastboot with Power+Volume Down. So the only choices I have is useless Recovery or Fastboot, never System.

Actually, it doesn't work for me either, unless I misunderstood what it is supposed to do. I have the option of not showing the reboot/shut down nor the notification shade while on lock screen, so keeping the power pressed gives a short vibration, but does nothing. Keeping it pressed for longer...
