i was having heating up problems with dorimanx and huge battery drains .. what do you mean by hardware buttons working ??

in my case, dorimanx is not good for me :) i have done some tweaks with siyah kernel too, if you are on XDA , Many40's released that tweaks.. they work awesome !

if you can enter in Recovery , you can simply wipe data, cache & Dalvick cache and install the latest build 3.5.17 , it should be fine :)

If this works fine with default setting , thats fine , otherwise let me know i will pass you some tweaks ;)

I am using v5 since yesterday now , and i am a heavy user of the phone , like with calls , texting , skype , whatsapp and viber , so i am connected to wifi most of the time as i have wifi at office and at home , but i didnt notice much drain , its good for me :)
