No you can unlock without sms. I haven't receive any sms or mail.

I was waiting too, but after few day I have try the mu unlocker and it was ok (no email confirmation before)

I got the same problem, the recovery flash hasn't work. Have you tried the recovery in the tutorial? Try with an other ADB or try this command "fastboot boot aqua.img"

Tu peux acheter n'importe quel xiaomi les bootloader ont été libérés. On te guidera ensuite sur la démarche à réaliser pour mettre le téléphone en français. Mais pas de crainte. Mon Mi4S est en francais maintenant et je ne suis pas un pro de l'informatique.
