Mi2S - extending size of storage partition

As a downside, it uses proprietary software (Mi PC Suite) which is only available under Windows, it is bound to MIUI 6, and it doesn't allow the user to choose partition sizes.

Mi2S - extending size of storage partition

/system/bin is in your phone. Using the Linux kernel, Android uses paths and mounts as seen in the GNU/Linux operating system: the primary path, called "root", is indicated with a slash (/). Every absolute path will begin with a slash, as it starts from the root. For example, the partition...

Mi2S - extending size of storage partition

Keep in mind that the default recovery is useless. It allows you only to flash a newer version of the same type (dev, stable...) of MIUI you currently have on your phone. Like I said, your first step will be to change recovery. You obviously can't do that using a recovery. You need to flash the...

Mi2S - extending size of storage partition

Hi! Keep in mind that this is an intermediate procedure, in terms of difficulty. You don't need to be a developer (I'm not), but at least a power user. If you don't know what CWM or ADB is, there is a non-zero risk you could end up bricking your phone. CWM is not an app you install on your...

[rom][cm12.1] Last Hope Rom - Best Rom Ever? ;)

Bad news for me, I was just listening to some songs encoded in Opus, and messaging on Telegram in the meantime. The phone turned off and this time it has been very hard to turn it on without it shutting down immediately again. Guess I'll have to change ROM.

[rom][cm12.1] Last Hope Rom - Best Rom Ever? ;)

You are able to play Pokémon GO on your Mi2-S with this ROM? Mine shuts down after few minutes...

[rom][cm12.1] Last Hope Rom - Best Rom Ever? ;)

The ROM already has root access, you just have to enable it in Settings. Once it's rooted, you can install SuperSU (or your favorite app) to manage root access.

[rom][cm12.1] Last Hope Rom - Best Rom Ever? ;)

This ROM seems CPU intensive on my phone, but acts a little weird in that sense. As soon as I open Pokémon GO and play for a couple of minutes, the phone turns off. If I turn it back on immediately and lock the screen, letting it rest for a little while, I can play for a couple of minutes more...

    [rom] Ivan's Aosp Marshmallow 6.0 - [6.3.22]

I'm trying to flash this ROM via CWM, but I'm stuck at "Patching system image unconditionally...". Does this happen to anyone?

    [rom] Ivan's Aosp Lollipop 5.1

It's for unmerged partitions, if I don't go wrong you need a patch to install it on a merged layout. So far I've not encountered any bugs. Just some things I don't like which are present in Lollipop or to AOSP by default, such as having to link your phone contacts to a Google account to use...

[rom]-- Smiui Rom -- Ultimate Custom Rom --[multilang,stable/weekly]

I'm Italian too :D I'd explain it in Italian to you but I'd want other people to understand it too if they have your same doubt. You just select "flash zip from sdcard" and, right then or after selecting it, it'll ask you whether to flash it in system1 or system2. If you can wait a little...

[rom]-- Smiui Rom -- Ultimate Custom Rom --[multilang,stable/weekly]

I know it's not nearly as comfortable as needed partitions, but you can keep them unnerved and repartition them. You'll have to estimate in advance your needs and once you've done it they'll still be fixed, but you can increase userdata/storage to your needs and you'll have no merged...

    [rom] Ivan's Aosp Lollipop 5.1

Ok, with Lollipop it just seems you have to have a Google account and give them everyone you know to finally have a phone. Sounds like a pretty awful deal with the devil. Can anyone tell me if CM 12.1 has a "Phone Storage" option in Contacts? Or maybe Mokee?

    [rom] Ivan's Aosp Lollipop 5.1

Just a little note: my phonebook is unusable: I don't have a phone storage, nor I'm able to read contacts stored in my SIM card. My contacts app wants to read the contacts stored on any remote account, whether it is a Google one, or WhatsApp's, Facebook's, Viber's... You name it. Everything but...

Because I wanted TDB. Seeing as it's incompatible with 5.1.1, I've now removed it and everything works flawlessly.

[rom]-- Smiui Rom -- Ultimate Custom Rom --[multilang,stable/weekly]

People advise to use TWRP as CWM seems to be a dead project, or almost so, no updates in the future. But I used it and it did good. It lets you choose which system to affect with every action: it asks you if you want to flash the zip to system 1 or system 2, reboot to 1 or 2 and such. There is...

I've experienced my first reboot: I'll try again from scratch disabling TDB from CWM and comment again on the stability.

[rom]-- Smiui Rom -- Ultimate Custom Rom --[multilang,stable/weekly]

Nope, just somehwere in your computer. To simplify things, if you haven't added C:\adb (or wherever your adb and fastboot exes are) to the PATH, and you have to be there with command prompt when addressing the commands, copy CWM's .img exactly there (C:\adb or what is your case). Then...

[rom]-- Smiui Rom -- Ultimate Custom Rom --[multilang,stable/weekly]

Of course! To avoid writing a uselessly giant post, I'll skip all the basic procedure, directly going on how to solve this problem. After all, we are trying to flash a new recovery with fastboot, so it's supposed you are able to install adb, your phone's drivers and such. If those steps are not...
