I think you have the sellers ROM on your RN3, the official stable version is V8.0.1.0.LHOMIDG (MIUI8). You will need to unlock the Bootloader and then flash an official ROM or a Xiaomi ROM to get rid of the sellers ROM and everything will work nicely after that. There are many tutorials that...

Hmmm, I think it has to be an official MIUI Rom ( it looks as though you are using a Xiaomi Rom which is different) before it will unlock using the MIUI website unlocker - anyone able to confirm or deny?

Are you sure it's an official ROM you have and not some custom reseller's?

Be very careful, watch when trying to flash this 7.1.9.0.0 ROM. There are TWO Developer options you need to change, not one. First is enable USB debugging, then you must allow OEM unlocking (its on the same settings page) otherwise you end up with a Boot Looped RN3 like me!

This bootloader lock is a real pain in the butt, it really is!

It takes a long time (weeks!) for the latest updates to show up on OTA due to the speed of the Chinese servers they have to use for OTA. It is a lot quicker just to download them yourself.
