There's a tutorial on the following link on YouTube, this way you can make sure you replaced it correctly. If the problem still persists, you're sure it's going to be an hardware or software issue.

Try to flash it over again starting from scratch, but make sure you follow all of the steps in here: https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/how-to-flash-miui-eu-rom-tutorial.40557/ If you want another (custom) ROM, you can use the above guide but add ZIP file of the ROM you would like.
