Does Miui 12 encrypt by default on mi8?

If I enably power button 0,5 second press to trigger Google assostant it works but after a while (or after a reboot) it doesn't work anymore.

I had the same problem. Even though I have root with magisk (safetynet pass) with the latest version something with Google pay went wrong. I have found a mod (flashable zip) and now everything works. https://www.google.com/amp/s/forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-tez-hider-t3796567/amp/

I think it's because you unlocked the bootloader, so safetynet is triggered. Try to install safetynet test and see if you pass the test

With ok google problem, a user posted on miui forum and a developer answered, maybe we can do the same with this problem. I'm from Italy, I would like to have 4g+ too

Same here. But not very frequently. My little sis sister can unlock the phone like 1/10. But still, it's annoying.

I still don't understand if this is an issue with every Mi 8 or just some of them.

It's already in English. Tried also in Italian (my mother language) with no result.
