My only real complaint, lack of split screen in Mi 8. Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk

    MIUI 11.2 20.1.2/4

Some will say clean flash required. I have rolled back dirty, wiping dalvik and cache first. The only issues I had was that the Google app stopped working, as did Mi Health. Mi Health I disable anyway, Google I simply uninstalled the updates, rebooted, updated Google in play store, rebooted, and...

    MIUI 11.2 20.1.2/4

Mi 8. Pretty buggy version for me, especially with updated magisk. Had some strange errors / general lag so have rolled back for now. Thanks as always to the devs! Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk

Can you expand what you mean here / where this is located? Sorry, can't appear to find this. I've no issues with the ROM (thank you Devs), but would like to get the security updated. I have also installed magisk 20.1 at the time of flashing. Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk

Compatibility of viper with Mi 8 and magisk issue been around a little while. You either have to dirty flash Ron or use mm recovery manager to sort out. In the meantime, as I've posted before, best alternative is flat equaliser. No issues with bootloop as not a root app Sent from my MI 8 using...

So far, in my experience, you can't without issue. To be honest just get flat equaliser. Works really well without issue and is just available to download from play store Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk

I'm assuming you dirty flashed the ROM? I had the same thing, only thing that sorted it was a clean flash...now ROM running perfectly Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk

From my own personal experience I would recommend backing up apps and data and doing a clean install Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk

Fact is that method to get viper doesn't work for Mi 8. I've given up for the moment and settled on flat equalizer, which works well and doesn't need root Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk

Do not do this on Mi 8. Just causes bootloop and as not a masgisk module you can't even remove using MM for Recovery. Deleting app through recovery doesn't work either, so you're left with no option but to dirty flash ROM to get back up. Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk

Right, and update from me with Mi 8. I was having some funny issues having dirty flashed, I knew it was a risk. I had things such as the fastboot error, which was solved by flashing the masgisk uninstaller before reflashing masgisk 20. But also I had a situation where I had massive battery...

Ok, so I've updated my Mi 8 with the latest. Rom seems fine, no complaints so far, and no issues in terms of speakers, etc However, I don't seem to be able to get Magisk installed. Tried both using orange fox and twrp, each time upon reboot it goes into fastboot, requiring a re-flash of the rom...

    MIUI 11.1 9.9.26/27 v2 - MIUI 11

I've said it before, for Mi 8 users I would honestly try using Orangefox recovery rather than TWRP. I have done so for some time and (fortunately) haven't faced any of the specific issues reported by Mi 8 owners. This isn't just for this version, but also previous ones. I dirty flashed after...

    MIUI 11.1 9.9.26/27 v2 - MIUI 11

Just updated, Mi 8. Dirty flash using orange fox. Dalvik and cache wiped, magisk installed. All seems good. Very slight lag but reckon this will improve with further releases. Thanks as always Devs! Sent from my MI 8 using Tapatalk

Honestly, I truly recommend using Orange Fox recovery for Mi 8 devices. I've been using a while now. Each time dirty flash having wiped dalvik/cache. Updates completely fine, with no glitches (to date), outside of general bugs reported by others.
