I'm in exactly the same situation: Google Pay (wallet) isn't working anymore. I also did everything in the mentioned tutorial; things worked for a while, but then, stop working.

Used the Wipe option of TWRP, installed again MIUI 14; before rebooting, wiped davlik (or smthing like this), reboot and voilà, everything seems to be working. I really didn't think that this would upgrade Android as well; my phone has android 13 now! Amazing. So far so good! Tks all you guys...

Tks. I think I misundertood your first answer; sorry, my fault. So, the rom that should be on the device is the MIUI 14 update and the recovery image (TWRP) should be together with fastboot on computer - got it! Finalizing the backup now; soon will start the upgrade process. Best regards

An update: one of my banking app (third one) finally worked; I've succeed adding a card to Google Wallet; payment worked fine! I'm starting to think that my other two apps might be too crazy about device checks; but have no idea what else could be the problem.
