you need to go into "recovery mode" and install the Google Apps package (in a .zip form, not .apk) the google apps package can be found on this forum. You can access the Recovery Mode through an option from the Updater app.

i had this problem before too when i first got the phone.. however it kind of dissappeared after a while. try wiping cache/data/davlik in the recovery mode first, then enable everything in the location settings maybe uninstall the chinese gps apps, and disable mock location i am using 3.4.12...

I do not have a mi2, so i'm not sure if the apk files are compatible at all. if they are crashing, probably incompatible but you can try to run it after rebooting phone, or after wiping

Going from ICS20 ROM to the 3.4.5 or newest 3.4.12 (at the moment of this post) does not require all the steps shown here. you just have to download the 3.4.12, rename it as update.zip, put it in the microsd, and flash it either in recovery mode or using the updater.

Go back to the Miui V4 stable versions, the new V5 is still buggy and has many random errors/bugs
