Due to recent changes in miui V5 like M1cha said - touchscreen firmware update - it is not possible to boot/downgrade older versions of roms on that phone. This new implementation for touchscreen crashes older kernels that don't support it. You can have latest stock jelly bean now , 3.4.5 roms...

I noticed this hole, I removed the black stock cover , I pay attention to my fingers holding the phone, I removed the plastic cover just to see if the mic looks fine - no dust or anything - it has black rubber protection. I also believe the issue related to this mic but not sure how it relates...

Isn't it possible to just push the proper mirecovery recovery.img from fastboot? Just an idea to consider. Haven't tried it yet.

I also confirm that downgrading the rom couldn't help, but I don't know if the bootloader is actually downgraded after flashing. I mean if you have the new bootloader (from 3.4.5) would it it be also downgraded via miflash/updater.apk or these tools would just skip it and keep the newer one.

Sure they didn't , all the issues happened without any gapps. I don't need these and I'm glad if they are not included anymore - less work for me with titanium backup :) What caused the issue is inside the rom archive 100%

While knowing cwm won't boot I made the mistake to flash stock jelly bean from updater - the result is unbootable rom and no recovery, I tested this , sharing here for the others. In such case I used miflash to at least get a bootable android OS :) For now just don't look at the stock jelly bean...

I guess you meant the updater.apk , now selected recovery-clockwork-6.0.3.0-aries-20130324-signed.zip as a installation pack (while in system1), it got installed , rebooted , from updater again I selected reboot in recovery and again - only the grey MI logo stares at me as I'm writing this...

I never used true dual boot , I can boot in normal rom. When try reboot in recovery - no adb access and no idea what's going on.

Cannot boot in cwm after 3.4.5 update. Didn't install stock recovery after flashing. Looping on MI grey logo. o_O

Today's miuiandroid 3.4.5 rom eliminated all the call audio issues for me. Combined with the fixed bugs in FM radio I find this the best release so far.

Similar issues here (speech was trasmitted incoherently, low volume) , with miuiandroid 3.3.29 I had to flash radio/baseband from 3.2.8 to improve call quality.
