That didn't work. I had to update to 5.12.3 and then the update to 5.12.10 worked well. Finally the mod to disable the volume adjustment sound is working in 5.12.10.

I tried to install 5.12.10 on my Mi2S with and without fast rom creation and it gave me the same error in TWRP. I'm on 5.11.19 now. Any suggestions?

By taping the cores you can enable or disable them. One is disabled.

I didn't try it on sMiUiv7 but on previous v6 versions it didn't run. I think that you need a clean ROM like AOSP to run exposed module correctly. Anyway you can try it and post your result here ;).

Exactly, flash TWRP and then flash 5.9.30 through it. At start of flashing TWRP comes with an error message but the flashing completes normaly.

Move the file "recovery.img" to C:\adb (the same folder where you have fastboot and adb files). You can find more info here.
