12 lite does not see the SIM card on the Xiaomi EU firmware

Hi,
The phone was working fine before updating to Hyperos, then it refused to accept and recognize a sim card. To load only modem.img, it requires unlocking the bootloader, and Mi Unlock for the bootloader requires a SIM card. Stupid situation.
The phone is a global version.

reading the title and the post sounds like you are not on Xiaomi.EU Firmware which is the wrong forum.

Sadly your options are to send it in or check for an bootloader unlock with 3rd partys like NCUnlock.
