Hello. I just put on 2.8.31 on my sgs2 and tried the camera and got this message (unfortunately, camera has stopped) any ideas?

i had the same problem.
what i did was change it to front facing, took some shots, panaroma, took some shots, and video took some vids
after i changed the resolution to 3M and then back to 5M
not really a method... but seemed to fix it (for now)
in a nutshell: change around a few basic settings and change 'em back and wait for newer firmwares for a fix
