ADB not recognizing device / Stock samsung drivers not working with phone?

After flashing MIUI on the fascinate my laptop no longer recognizes the device. Device Manager (win xp pro) says that the drivers are not installed. Even after installing the stock drivers several times. Does anyone have ideas on how to correct this? Is this a common issue?

try installing the bulid-in usb adb driver.
http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html
