My first post here. I am interested in trying a Xiaomi phone and miui rom but I'm concerned about android auto which I have been enjoying in my car for a while. Has anyone here got experience of android auto functioning on Miui ROMs? I am just asking as android auto seems to be very picky about which phones it works on!
Many thanks for any advice.

Mi5s Plus here and doesnt work with mirrorlink or android auto...
I have pioneer x7700bt and only works with the RadioAppLive... (Only for music and google maps) -.-...

That's a good question ! I was about tu buy a Redmi Note 3, and I'm also user of Android AUTO (native with the car) and my old NEXUS5...
If we could have more informations about that =) !

Thanks

Hi Again, I saw on the playstore on android auto app, that someone was using it with a HONOR8, so ... Perhaps we could have a bit of luck with a XIaomi phone ?

So have you tried it and it doesn't work on whatever model your particular phone/ROM is?

Works fine on my RN3 with 6.12.1 as a standalone app although it's painful to use as it's a massive CPU hog and the RN3 struggles.

Hi,if you are asking me, it works with my Google NEXUS 5 (yeah perhaps CPU&RAM aren't the best...), I haven't yet an other phone to try ;)
But, RN3 isn't better than my old Nexus5 ?

I suspect Android Auto is just a very poorly designed application. I use CarHome Ultra which has a lot more functionality and that works just fine, although it might not look as pretty. AA takes several seconds to open up any of the sub-applications (Maps\Music) when told to.

Android Auto works fine with my Mi 5 on xiaomi.eu Stable ROM connected to my Volkwagen Golf 2016.

But not with the original USB cable. I have to use a 3rd party cable.

Android Auto does not work with the Mi 5s Plus and the same cable and car, using xiaomi.eu Weekly ROM.

your RN3 able cast screen to the HU? via usb cable & bluetooth?

I tried mine, only voice via bluetooth to the Head unit on android auto. mine is on miui stable 8.1

Hi I use Android car with mi4, about opel adam 2017 and it works well enough, occasionally it disconnects both with original cable, both with not original

I have a Redmi 4 Pro and with my brand new car it doesn't work with Android Auto (global stable, root). There is something that I can do to make it work?

Hello there,
I cani confirm that my mi5 works with Android auto on my Captur (2014, so on One of the first version), BUT, i "forced" it to works... Looking throug many and many and, than again, many forums i discovered that some "features" were disabled in r-link... With the help of a russian tool and a chinese obd2, today activated mirrorlink and android auto on my car... Still some bugs, but it works... Be sure that android auto is active in your car... Cheers from italy

Hi Simrucci!
Could you send some useful links about it? Thank you!

Hi,
First of all, i remind you (everyone's reading) that i'm not responsable of any damage, or anything else you can cause to yourself or your car.
You will need a soldering iron and little soldering skills

The tool is ddt4all, you'll easly find it by googoling...
I used a bluetooth obd2 (I think it's rev. 1.5) i inverted 2 cables on pin:
cable on 6th pin goes on 13th pin
cable on 14th pin goes on 12th pin

I also remind that this procedure is for Renault r-link ONLY...

Cheers
