Which are you guys running on your MIUI ROM?

For years I ran Dr Web on my Linus web servers... so I chose them when I had stock Sense. Now that I'm on this amazing ROM I was curious. Thanks.

Lookout!

I don't run any. Even on my PC, I went 2 years without a firewall or antivirus, no problems. The best antivirus is your brain. As long as you're not downloading untrustworthy apps or things from the web such as porn. :) You should be fine.

But there's always that chance, anything can happen because as humans made this operating system, it's not perfect and can be hacked. But I'd rather go unprotected and not have a memory hog of an antivirus constantly running in the background.

I agree with pr17 in some respect.
As long as your not downloading apks from the dark side of the internet, you shouldn't have a problem, but there has been issues with rouge apps in the Market.

I myself use Lookout as it's footprint is minimal and the scans are quick and painless compared to the other anti-virus applications out there so I see no reason not to run one as it has no impacted on my phone what-so-ever.

In my 15 years of owning a computer, I've never had a virus or any type of malware infection either. I do network administration and security for a living....I do use my brain. But because of my field, I also know of all of the 0 day and unkown security vulnerabilities that are out there. (which I can easily give examples of if need be... or the popular saying just ******* google it.)

I wasn't asking for a lesson in security, if I needed one, I would get fired from my daily job. I was more curious to see others security practices and applications in use.

Thanks for your input!

If you didn't want a lecture, why did u ask? If your an expert why did you ask? If you know how to google it why did you ask?

Did you not read anything I posted? I said I was "Curious". A lot of people don't run these antimalware applications on their phones because they already have limited memory and limited battery life. With MIUI my battery life and memory has drastically increased. So I wanted to poll the community as to what they do. Hence fulfilling my curiosity?

Apparently I'll have to wait until Google Sound becomes a reality and less of an April Fools joke from years ago since asking questions on a community forum gets these unhelpful results :/

Thanks @Mandor for your real response. I appreciate it :)

Purchase any anti-virus app in the market. They are all great.
But they don't do anything. A normal App can't access the Application-Package (.apk). It can touch itself and it can change the .apk - but only it's own package.
So, if an app has any rootkits, or exploits or smth. - an antivirus-app couldn't see it.

App: touch /data/app/very.evil.apk
Permission denied.

If an app would read another apk it needs root or a rootkit inside. Would you trust any avirus-apps with a rootkit inside?
And there are 3 or 4 known rootkits / exploits outside - but they aren't really documentated - so? Which software should check your other software for known viruses, when there aren't any documentations about the viruses?

*clap* Mh, Day 26 without any hack or virus on PC.

Just my 2 Cents.
