It works here, at least with Youtube. Sure, you didn`t switch it off in the options?

Works for me w/o problem in all applications (v. 7.1.19)

Here it works, not necessary in the way I want. Turning itself into horizontal view and the only way to make it vertical again is to shut the app and reopen
