Buying xiaomi from china / First Xioami phone

I want to buy for my gf a mi8 pro gold, and for myself a mi mix 3. Since neither of them are available in the EU nor with global ROM I want to buy it from China. I found the mi global store on aliE. I know they are not the offical reseller, but they are willing to ship to EU for some bucks with global rom and I could get them within 2 weeks.
What is going to happen if I get the chinese phone with the global ROM?
Will we be able to use our bank apps, gps, face unlock etc etc?
I know about the widevine netflix problem but thats negligible. Anything else?
Please tell me pros and cons and not just a 3 word answer.

First check if the device you are buying supports the LTE Bands in your country. Is the phone only Global Rom or a real global device? Check it. I also bought a chinese (not global) Xiaomi Mi Max 3 but it supported the all the LTE Bands and came with weekly Xiaomi.EU MIUI 10 Beta. Everything is working. Bank, Netflix, GPS, Face Unlock....

But there are devices which are not global and dont support global Bands.

After unlocking bootloader you can flash global rom.
