Can you recover deleted files from second space?

In the process of installing a custom rom i forgot to back up my second space. I had some important stuff there, so i tried rooting my device to try and recover those files, but it didn't help.

Is it still possible to recover those deleted files from second space?

Sure! Just copy your deleted files to a PC, connect you phone to a PC an copy them back to your phone. Or copy them to an SD-card connect the SD-card with an USB stick and and an USB to USB-C OTG connector to your phone and copy them from there to your phone. You can use the file manager implemented in TWRP for this.

might sound dumb but how can i copy the deleted files if they're.. deleted?
