New Can't change screen lock

Hello everyone, after some problems with battery drain on my Mi8 I decided to do a clean install wipe everything and install the stable release(was in weekly earlier). Now I can't add fingerprints or change the screen lock type (pin, Pattern, etc). when I try there's an error that tells me that settings keep stopping. The funny thing is that the phone remembers my previous pattern, I'd assume it would ask me for a new one but it didn't. If I press the fingerprint scanner, the screen lights up, so I'd assume it's working fine.
Any ideas?should I move to weekly again?

Edit: sometimes I can get into the add fingerprint screen that tells me to put my finger on the sensor, but it doesn't detect anything.

You could try to do a fresh install of Official Global ROM or China Official ROM whatever you want, obviously without locking the bootloader, and then try again install TWRP and ROM.
