I cant find the nfc function on xiaomi redmi note 12.
Could it be missing in this device ? can somthing be done about this ?

All Redmi Note 12 does not seem to have NFC.

Wikipedia indicate different models ID :

Note 12: 23021RAAEG, 23028RA60L
Note 12 (NFC): 23021RAA2Y

Maybe you should check it in Settings > About phone > Detailed specs > Model

In fact, here you are in the Xioaomi 12 section and not in the redmi note 12 section.
