twrp 3.2.1.0 and magsik and root & unlock bootloader
when i try to install via updater app i get error its not allowed to upgrade to unofficial rom package
before i install twrp my phone was unlock in devloper nenu
after i install twrp my phone was lock in devloper nenu
what i do worng

Same here....I got the same error msg using the updater APP (I am not sure why this was advised in tutorial as the weekly ROM was always installed from TWRP...).

I have install TWRP 3.2.1.0 and when trying to install from TWRP, I cannot see the data folder, but just some system folder...

Therefore cannot choose my zip file to install ;(

Note: This happened after flashing the new 8.1.18 DEV ROM.
Before, when I was on android 7.1.1, I could see the normal folder and the zip file, but there would be an endless loop after install from TWPR.

Any suggestion team ??
Any help gladly appreciated :)

When you are on Global ROM you first have to FORMAT DATA in TWRP or with fastboot to delete the encryption. Afterwards reboot to TWRP again and then install eu-ROM.

Hi MeiGuddet,

Thanks for coming back to me, really appreciate!

So I tried to follow your instructions but wasnt able to do the DATA format.
The reason is that the DATA partition is not mounted (for some reason).
I tried to mount it in TWRP, but the system wouldnt allow me to do that :(

Here as the screenshot of what I am talking about:
Wipe fail:
wipe data.jpg

Mount data not enabled:
mount data.jpg

Who you know why the DATA partition was not mounted in the first place ?
When I was using the MI DEV on 7.1.1, I could actually see the DATA partition.
But now that I am on DEV 8.0, I cannot see it anymore...

Any clues ?

EDIT:
I have finally solved the issue; The problem was indeed the encrypted part that seems to come with the new MI ROM 8.0 preventing TWRP to mount the DATA partition.

You will need to remove that encryption and here is how to do that:
- Go into fastboot and enter following command: fastboot format userdata (be careful, you loose all your data)
- I have then installed my TWRP as usual
- The DATA partition is now visible
- I have updated the rom via TWRP on the sdcard (you can see it from you explorer)
- I have made a dalvik cache wipe
- Install the ROM as usual from TWRP (not via the updater app as mentioned in the weekly ROM tuto post)

And voila :)

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
