Can't unlock bootloader. Please Help!

I have Xiaomi Redmi Note 9s global rom and want to change the EU rom.
Whenever I try to unlock the bootloader using Xiaomi desktop app, I get an error in unlocking process and it asks me to add device and account on mi unlock status option in the settings.
When I switch on the phone data and press add account and device it stays for a while the says please wait a minute or two
OEM unlocking is on and USB debugging is on
It never works and i'm unable to unlock the bootloader can anyone help me?!

I'm on MIUI 12.0.1 global

It seems you have some sort of problem with handshaking with the Xioami Server,
For 1st step check your data connection,
Any VPN
...

I don't use any VPN, and tried a different SIM card for another provider with working data it did not work also.. Got the same error

I updated to MIUI 12.0.2 global and deleted mi cloud account and created a new one with still no luck to get it unlocked

Now and out of the sudden it worked! I didn't change anything just kept trying from time to time, but I get a new error to wait 168 hours. Is there anything I can do to speed up the process?!

You can't speed it up. Just use your phone regularly and after about a week it'll allow you to unlock.
