Captivate help needed.

I flashed my Samsung captivate with the latest MIUI ROM on the xda developers site today. I love the ROM. My question is two fold. 1. I can't get the USB tether or the WiFi hotspot to work, is there a fix for that? 2. Some of my settings menus are in Japanese or Chinese, but mostly is English. Is there a fix for that? Thanks for any input or help.
