Hi. I was trying to unlock a LTE band on my Redmi 4 Prime and therefore I tried to connect my phone in diag mode.

I used the usual method and typed that:
adb shell
Code:
adb shell
su
setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb
I accepted the su popup, but my phone still shows up as a normal device in my device manager.

The next thing I tried was typing *#*#13491#*#* into the dialer. There was a popup aswell ("usb config setting")

The two options are "DIAG,SERIAL_SMD,RMNET_IPA,ADB" and "MTP,ADB". In the background there's a small popup saying "success".

But my phone still shows up normally and not as qualcomm hs-usb diagnostics as it should be.

Can anybody help me?

Hi,
I tried to connect to the diag mode too. I've changed only the wifi MAC address, I've not tried the LTE bands, but if you have success, please let us know!

The final solution was that I flashed the chinese developer rom. Apperently it includes the diag mode by default (drivers had to be installed on windows).

SOLVED

I installed the newest Weekly and it worked (I was previously on the Weekly, switched to the Stable with a clean install and it didn't work).
