Copied contacts gone in text messaging!

So, i flashed to MIUI - Cleared all caches and such on my phone beforehand.
Had all the contacts on my SIM card, so it wouldn't matter.

Though i can see them under "Call", i can't go into texting and find them?
Whenever i wish to add a number, it's simply not there on the contact list.

What's wrong here?

what does that have to do with phone contacts and text messaging?
and as of that though, it's already synced. i always have syncing on - but back at topic please
