Dead Touch Screen

I got my phone a week back and i wanted root access. I didnt find the dev rom for my region and i loaded the WCDMA - china rom after which i am not able to go beyond the initial set up of the device where language is to be selected from the first boot. Any ways to fix this.?

Try to bot in recovery and flash another rom.

i did the mi recovery for the correct rom and it booted.. but still the screen isnt responding..
