DesireHD = My phone number 'unknown' <Please read>

Hi. I'm using 'DesireHD' and sending this letter because there occur an error. Because of it, I can't use an application which is used through cellphone-number certification and it is inconvenience to me. (It also occurs in other version.)
The error is..

1. setting -> system -> About phone -> 'My phone number' in 'status' -> 'unknown' is seen.
2. *#*#6484#*#* (test mode) -> 'SIM id' in 'Check SIM status' -> 'unknown' is seen and it also appears in 'SIM operator name'

Please let me know how to solve this problem as it is too inconvenient. For reference, this error shows up only in DesireHD and other cellphones(Desire, nexus one, nexus S) don't show this.

* In cyanogen(mod)7 ROM, I enter 'My phone number' directly and let it recognize it. But is this impossible in MIUI ROM?

(* cynogen(mod)7 ROM
Currency settings -> Additional settings = enter my numbers directly.)


Please help me solve this problem and I would really appreciate it. It makes so much trouble.

I'm with you! I have the same problem, and I'm a DHD user as well.

I also posted a thread before, but didn't really get a proper response from MIUI. As every other devices don't show this specific problem, I doubt it's the ROM's fault. It could be the problem when porting from one device to another, but I heard the chinese developers don't encounter this problem, so I'm suspecting there's a difference in hardware between China and other countries.

hope MIUI fixes this soon!!

It's not a rom bug. It is a operator bug. You have to put your sim in another phone that support "my number" changing. I can confirm that you can use Iphone or Samsung s5230 for this trick!

I heard that this wasn't an operator bug since everyone with a DHD and MIUI has this problem.
But, it's good to hear yours worked out mine didn't... ARGH

I would like to see this fixed as well, or at least an option like CM7 to update my phone number. I have an HTC Inspire 4G (US version of the DHD) and I get the unknown issue as well. If there's any way to get this option, we'd love it!
