What is the difference between Normal and Official International version of Redmi 3S ? In a store I can see $20 difference in price. Why?
 
Official international has Google services built in and will receive ota updates from xiaomi... Well worth the €20. With some modding you could flash whatever rom you want on it, but it comes with risks......

Mine came with a xiaomi.eu rom so I'm not. I think there better than average from what I've read

Done wrong, flashing roms can brick a phone. Google how to install xiaomi.eu rom, that'll give you an idea of whats involved. You would also to get the bootloader unlocked

As I see the most difficult part is to unlock bootloader but to get working official global ROM I don't have to do that. Firstly wish to try it and maybe move to xiaomi.eu ROM. Are there those infamous chinese apps also in global ROM?
 
I believe they are, the xiaomi.eu rom removes most of them. I think if you buy it with the Chinese rom the official pc software doesn't allow you to easily switch it to the global rom

I suggest you get at least 3gb of ram as miui is quite ram heavy

Bought Official Intern. v. => it was just loaded with "fake" Global ROM.

If you ask me, buy the one that cost less... and than install xiaomi.eu STABLE or developer ROM.

BTW: the simplest way is to buy in EU is from Top-One ( http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/2bYNzbAII ) cause it has low prices, and for EU it can ship from UK by DHL EU express... which means no custums and VAT...

Have MIUI 8 on Redmi 3S 2GB... runs just great, all you have to do is turn OFF in developer options RAM management.
The system with all standard google play services and apps (calendar, gmail, maps, drive, camera, notes, photos....) takes 1GB RAM after boot... And you have about 7-8GB of storage after installing some basic apps.

But if you need to run some RAM heavy apps or need extra storage go for 3GB/32GB version... I think it's only 20-30EUR more.
 
Well, it would be stupid to pay $20 more to get fake global ROM ... the key question is if it will be possible to flash global/xiaomi.eu ROM on normal chinese version of 3S ?

There are no uniform "Global" or "International" version definition, Xiaomi doesn't do that. Vendor sometimes say it's Global or International because it has official global ROM, other times it's because the hardware is from a version selling outside China with say different LTE bands or other characteristics.
So, the online reseller will do and say anything, it's up to you to check what it means.
 
Officiall version means that the phone uses also the missing so far band 800 in LTE mode and comes with EU charger with no extra adaptors and English manual.
And believe me the band 800 is working!!!

Not totally true, depends in vendor. Each one should check if vendor is only speak about ROM or if it has another features.

Be aware that some shops put in their devices unofficial roms, made not from xiaomi official neither from xiaomi eu, they are global and strangely they have multilingual support, but cannot be updated in any way, unless you reflash with official xiaomi One and apply unlock officially... I found it in gearbest items, and i speak for it, but also other vendors make this kind of operation to xiaomi devices...

In my case my two 3s bought from geekbuying internationally versions came FACTORY SEALED with official global inside and believe me the 800 band that were missing is here and works.
Thats all believe it or not phones were untouched with English manual EU charger and nothing Chinese inside with Google apps pre-installed!!!
