Extreme battery drain suddenly

So since Monday.. my Mi 8 battery is just not surviving.. I start work at 10am, so my phones on charge until 9.30.

Around 3.30 / 4pm, of light usage. the battery is on 20% or lower..
This is sudden.. for ages the battery has been fantastic.

There are no apps running which can cause this, the battery screen shows nothing using huge percentages or anything bigger..

Which leaves me to think.. its the phone.. the phone is clearly rubbish..
I have had this phone for about three months.. and its battery is worse than an iPhone..

Insanely disappointing if this is just a bad battery..

Have had a look.. all seems fine?
I did have a all black theme on.. could it be that was actually not beneficial for the battery?


Have removed that, removed any widgets too.. but had those for ages so seems odd that it could have been those..

You have a lot of usage of android system. Me also have a big android system why..!??

650 mah? That's way of limits, install Better Battery Stats to find the real culprit, maybe a Sensor is going mad or something...

Turned out it was a messenging app I use for speaking to clients.

Got rid of that and all went.. is it a little odd the app did not register as draining battery though?
