Hi all,
I bought the 128gb Mi Max 3 from Aliexpress and didn't at the time know about the issues with the 'unofficial' global rom. So my phone has 9.6.4.0 and an unlocked bootloader. I am waiting for my nano sim to arrive (currently use Mi Max 1which has micro slot) but I'm expecting calling problems.
So my question is can I install the xiaomi.eu rom safely and if so what is the procedure? And do I need to wait until I have the sim? I've read on xda a procedure to revert to the china rom and then install Google apps, but it seems fraught with dangers and very complex!
Any advice and guidance gratefully received.
Thanks

I had the same problems with the "Global ROM" I installed the last rom xiaomi.eu and solved problem, in Youtube you will find several tutorials very easy to follow, what I can help you is:

download twrp nitrogen
download xiaomi.eu my max 3 weekly
activate usb debugger on your cell phone

Did you install the official China rom before the EU rom?
Yes you are supposed to be on china rom first because xiaomi.eu is based on china rom(which is latest btw than global) then they just modify it to intl. With less bloated apps.
