Hello, unfortunately I can't get any further. I'm stuck trying to update my xiaomi smartphone. it keeps showing waiting for device, can someone help me?

Did you check if your connected phone is in fastboot mode?

Make sure you have installed necessary adb drivers

And also try another cable ou via a usb hub.. I had the same problem, it would recognize via adb but not fastboot. I tought the cable would not be an issue because I was using a high quality 60w rated one.. But trying with another made it work.

This thread helped me to solve the program problem, which was probably due to the driver. I installed it while my phone was in fastboot mode and connected to the PC
