How can I force gesture navigation when using other launchers like Nova Launcher?
It's HyperOS2, rooted.

I tried KernelSU-Next + ZygiskNext + ReLSPosed + AnyLauncher
I got it working in Nova launcher but as soon as I set Nova as default launcher it's switching back to buttons.
I got this solved by enabling [x]System UI, [x]System launcher, [x]Nova Launcher in AnyLauncher. Navigation buttons bar does not come back but gesture Navigation isn't working properly. The Home-swipe does nothing and finally fails with a message that says several times tried to start the system launcher even though Nova has been set as default.

Xiaomi stupidly and as the only manufacturer integrated gesture controls into the launcher. This means that if you disable the stock launcher (use a third-party launcher) the system will lose the ability to use gestures. The only option is to use an application from GPlay for gestures. It will never work reliably.

I can't go with the system launcher, it has almost no feautues, no grid settings or anything. I'm not even able to place and size my widgets appropriately.
Anyway, thanks for the explanation. Do you have any hint which application could provide gesture navigation?
If they have built the navigation into the launcher, then it might be a feature request for Nova Launcher to do so as well with an option, to be able to run on this kind of roms as well.

I’ve been trying exactly this too, using gesture navigation with a launcher like Nova, and it can be trickier than it seems. On many devices the system blocks full-screen gestures when a third-party launcher is set as default. On Android 10+ you can try an ADB command to force it, but it’s not guaranteed on every phone. If yours isn’t working, the OEM might have disabled it or there’s a tweak required. Would love to know if anyone found a solution that works reliably.

But if I got this right, it's not only about gesture navigation being blocked, but also missing implementation if the system launcher is not used. With my approach I got gesture navigation forced with Nova Launcher and I had no button bar anymore, but ended up with no navigation at all.
So the question is, is there any stable application providing gesture navigation only, which I also could install into the system if this helps to make it more reliable.

Sorry for my misleading speech-input related typos in the first post, corrected now.

If you’re planning a trip to Italy, staying in unique and comfortable accommodations can make all the difference. One of the best options is luxury vacation rentals Florence Italy, which offer a perfect blend of elegance, privacy, and local charm. These rentals often feature historic architecture, modern amenities, and prime locations near major attractions like the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio. Unlike traditional hotels, they provide a home-like experience, ideal for families or solo travelers looking for a longer stay. Booking a luxury rental also allows you to enjoy the city at your own pace, with personalized touches that make your trip unforgettable. Whether it’s a romantic getaway or a cultural immersion, these rentals elevate your Florence experience.
On HyperOS2, gesture navigation is tied to the system launcher, so even with AnyLauncher and Nova, full functionality often fails. To make gestures work properly, use a module or app like Fluid Navigation Gestures that hooks directly into the gesture system rather than relying on AnyLauncher. Also, disable stock gestures in Settings before applying tweaks, reboot, and then test. This avoids the repeated “tried to start system launcher” errors while keeping Nova as your default launcher.
