Format through mi recovery instead of twrp

Does the factory reset option from settings work? Can I install mi recovery since twrp can't even start on android 12? Can this format data? What happens with root?

Mi Recovery is already installed on your device so lets do factory reset..

I tried to enter recovery mode and it was twrp crashing again and again (I had to long press the power button to reboot to system)
