GMail Notification Counter

Hello together

first of all, sorry for my bad english I like the MIUI-Rom very much! I have just one question.
Is there a possibility to enable a notification counter on the gmail-icon/app like there is on the MMS icon/app or the phone icon/app?!

You need to use thirdpary application for it. seach in Market there many application claiming to do this. never tried personally tho'.
In the default gmail application it is not possible as of now.

First of all, thank u for ur fast answer! Do u mean sth llike sms unread widget? But...it is just a WIDGET! I can't put it on the dock of the launcher! Any suggestions for this problem?

Search for gmail unread counter in market there is an app by Alexander which claims to do this
