Invalid Google Assistant isn't working when screen off

For years I have been using Android instead of iPhone because it is freer. Why am I not allowed to run the ok google command when the screen is off, this is my device. Is there any way to get around this? I am using redmi note 12 pro 4g.

Enable it in the Google app first. Are you even using our ROM that you're asking questions here?
