Which rom are you using? Last time i tried switching data and wifi continuously and it works.

With the Chinese stock rom - yes. And I wasn't the only one. The beta chrome app will install with that rom.
With any .eu rom the normal Chrome app will install just fine.

This worked for me. Couldn't install chrome on my K40 pro after a fresh install of 12.0.8 (xiaomi.eu stable rom). Had to update webview in the play store, then chrome installed without a hitch.
