Google functions on unlocked Mi8

Hello everyone,

I had bought a Mi 8 in China and brought it to Germany, then I realised Google Pay doesn't work in Xiaomi.

I am willing to install the ROM from XIAOMI EU(https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-10-0-10-1-stable-release.47170/) because it supposes to support all the Google functions.
Since I haven't installed any ROM before, I have a couple of questions:

1. In order to install the ROM, XIaomi must be unlocked bootloader. I have read accidentally that Google functions will not work on unlocked phones, is it true?
2. How does the ROLLBACK function work on Mi8?
3. Is there anything I need to pay attention to with my first Installation? Or is there a detailed instruction for ROM Installation?

I would greatly appreciate your answers.

As far as I know:
1. You have to unlock the bootloader Xiaomi permission here: https://en.miui.com/unlock/
And you can run Google apps without issues.
2. Rollback or ARB os a Xiaomi protection that prevent to do a downgrade. So please check tour ARB protection that should be "4". Never try to flash a ROM with ARB "3" or you'll get a hardbrick.

Just one point I couldn't find the answer:
how to check if tour ARB protection is "4"? Take Mi 8 as an example?

ARB protection is Anti RollBack.
The way for know which type do you have is in the command shell with ADB installed type the command fastboot getvar anti if you get "4" then you do can not back to a ROM with ARB 3 because you get a hardbrick.

Yes, it helps. I need to consider more if an EU-ROM is meaningful for me.
